Range Cleanup and Mining

Range Cleanup and Mining

Backstops, bullet traps, ballistic rubber, sand, and berms used at firing ranges all require regular maintenance to prevent the build up of spent munitions, which can present a ricochet and environmental hazard. In addition, ranges may require cleanup to prevent the accumulation of dust containing toxic metals. AIM has performed range mining and cleaning at multiple law enforcement, military, and private ranges. During “range mining”, slugs are separated from ballistic material and recycled.
